Relief for 501(c)(6) Organizations

I support my local Chamber of Commerce and industry trade associations. I respectfully ask Congress to include 501(c)(6) organizations and other 501(c) non-profits as eligible participants in relief efforts such as the forgivable loans that are already available to small businesses and 501(c)(3) organizations.
  • Congress has done a very good job of helping both individuals and businesses through the COVID-19 crisis. Financial grants, loans, and the easing of many rules and procedures will help reverse the downturn. We sincerely thank our elected officials for these important programs. However, those aid programs are for businesses and 501(c)(3) nonprofits leaving out a very important group of the legislation - 501(c)(6) organizations. Those groups left out such as chambers of commerce and trade associations provide irreplaceable leadership and support to our local communities and to the hard-working professionals that keep our economy strong. During potential "Phase 4" negotiations, I urge Congress to consider these 501(c)(6) organizations that have been impacted by the coronavirus.
