TFRWE 2023 – what you need to know!

February 6, 2023Doug Peters, President & CEO of the Abilene Chamber of Commerce

One of the most significant advantages of life in the big country is the great diversity of our regional economy.

Recently, many people have weighed in on the strength of Abilene’s economy, and why it seems that we’re faring better than many other places when it comes to cranking out the GDP.

That diversity is key to a sustainable economy. Whether it’s oil and gas, our military presence, agriculture, small business or manufacturing, Abilene is well-positioned to experience continued growth and opportunity.

We know our community and what makes us tick. And we support it. Both are important.

Creating awareness is one of many reasons that the Abilene Chamber proudly produces the longest running farm show in Texas – the Texas Farm Ranch & Wildlife Expo (TFRWE).

TFRWE has become known as the Big Country’s agriculture marketplace. This year’s TFRWE takes place Feb. 21 & 22 at the Taylor Telecom Arena and is sponsored by Lawrence Hall – Abilene, a tremendous supporter of the Chamber and the area businesses we serve.

Come out and be a part of the people and businesses who drive agriculture in the Big Country.

There will be seminars on Property Tax Valuations, a Pig Brig Demo, Intellectual Property (IP) Basics for Rural America, Real Estate Market Outlook, and so much more! Click here for a tentative show schedule.

But the two-day show is about much more than showing off the latest and greatest in the agriculture industry. It’s also about building those relationships with that help feed the world.

New this year, thanks to our friends at Abilene Equipment Center, Reed Beverage and Community Broadcast Partners, we’ll have live music, a Power Happy Hour and a Yellowstone look-a-like contest on Feb. 21 at 4:00 pm. Come grab a drink, walk through the show, and enjoy live music before we wrap up the first day of the trade show.

And last, but certainly not least, we’ll help our friends at Texas A&M AgriLife – Taylor County honor the Agriculture Family of the Year at the annual Agriculture Legacy Luncheon on Wednesday, Feb. 22. We hope you’ll join us for a great meal and to hear stories from our two outstanding speakers – Joe Leathers, General Manager of the 6666 Ranch (psstt did you know Yellowstone and 1883 are filmed on the iconic 6666 ranch?) and Cowboy Chef Mike Newton as seen on Master Chef. Thanks to our sponsors Taylor Telecom and Capital Farm Credit for making this luncheon possible.

Ready to get involved? Reach out to our team today.

It will be a busy two days, for sure, and we can’t wait to see you there.

Onward!

Doug
