It’s all about the opportunity!

August 8, 2022Doug Peters, President & CEO of the Abilene Chamber of Commerce

One of the things our members value most is exposure to opportunity – the opportunity to gain exposure for themselves and their businesses as well as the opportunity to meet and do business with fellow Chamber members.

With more than 2,000 people among the Chamber’s membership ranks, that opportunity abounds.

Another thing that Abilenians, myself included, appreciate about this great community is the rich cultural diversity that exists here.

At one special time each year, the Chamber brings both opportunity and culture to the same place.

It’s no secret that one of my favorite events of the year is Business Mercado, which to many of us is the equivalent of a Hispanic market. On steroids!

Sponsored by Happy State Bank, Telemundo Abilene, Arrow Ford and this year under the continued leadership of the Chamber’s Hispanic Business Council, Business Mercado will take place on Saturday, Oct. 8 at the Abilene Convention Center.

Mercado is an annual showcase of business products and services with the intent of building the bridge with the Hispanic consumer.

What sets this event apart from our other trade shows? This event is focused on business to consumer relationships while still allowing you the opportunity to engage with fellow business owners.

Open to all businesses interested in connecting with the Hispanic market, this high energy, family friendly event spotlights the Hispanic culture in Abilene with mariachis, Ballet Folklorico and other family fun activities throughout the day.

Booths are going fast and are now open to the public. Have yours reserved? Reach out to Ashley Knowlton today to ensure you’re all set!

This event is one of my favorites through the year. It’s fun to watch the leadership of the Chamber’s Hispanic Business Council come together to plan and execute this great opportunity for all area businesses and consumers.

Bring the family!

Onward!

Doug
