Abilene Chamber Launches Business Resource Guide for COVID-19

Abilene, Texas – It’s difficult to predict the economic impact of COVID-19, but current precautionary restrictions will disproportionately affect our business community. In order to help the business community navigate the coming weeks, the Abilene Chamber has launched a dedicated webpage called businessresourceabilene.com.

“The Chamber’s mission is to promote a positive business climate and when a situation like COVID-19 threatens the stability of not only our member businesses, but the business community at large, we want to make sure we’re taking every step we can to assist them ,” said Doug Peters, President & CEO of the Abilene Chamber of Commerce. “This is just one of many ways the Chamber is currently working on behalf of the business community to ensure adequate precautions are being taken to protect our workforce and our economy.”

Updated daily, the webpage has information on how to apply for a Small Business Administration (SBA) disaster loan, updates on grocery store hours, updates for the hospitality industry, links to workforce assistance, relief funds and more.

“These are unprecedented times in our country, and most certainly here at home. However, Texas has the top economy in the country and while there will be effects from this crisis, we will get through this, we will learn undeniable lessons along the way, and we will take care of our own,” said Peters. “Afterall, that’s the Abilene way.”
