MISSION
Involve the membership in the growth and development of the Abilene Chamber of Commerce and broaden the financial base and support of the Chamber, its programs and its activities.
OBJECTIVES
Membership Revitalization
- Revitalize new member recruitment and retention.
- Conduct membership retention efforts involving existing members and board members.
- Continue working to expand diversity of membership and increase membership involvement by continuing to assure that every member who expresses interest is asked to be involved.
Redcoats
- Represent the Chamber at business and institution openings and expansions, special Chamber and community events, and meetings.
- Serve as goodwill ambassadors for the Chamber and community.
Non-Dues Source of Income
- Look for additional methods of providing non-dues sources of income for the Chamber.
Publications
- Produce an annual membership and business directory.
- Produce the annual Abilene Magazine for use in marketing businesses in Abilene and attracting new businesses and newcomers to our city.
- Produce the monthly newsletter, the Chamber Connection and weekly Monday Memo.
- Enhance electronic communications and opportunities utilizing technology via the web.
Membership Services
- Hold monthly member orientation sessions on the Chamber programs that will assist the members in understanding their membership and how to make the most of their investment.
- Continue Power Marketing sessions for members to promote their businesses.
- Continue to increase awareness of Chamber accomplishments and involvement.
- Continue to research new benefits and services that can be provided to the membership.
Networking Opportunities
- Conduct the annual Chamber Banquet and Membership Meeting.
- Conduct Wake Up Wednesday!, Business After Hours and other networking opportunities for the members with "Quick Tips" on how to network and market themselves and their business.
