The Abilene Chamber of Commerce is a complex membership organization with numerous commitees and councils. The Chamber also has three affiliates: the Abilene Industrial Foundation, established in 1962; the Abilene Convention and Visitors Bureau, in 1971; the Cultural Affairs Council, in 1978. Each affiliate has its own operating board which answers to the Chamber’s governing Board of Directors.
