Mission
To facilitate the advancement of Hispanic businesses within Abilene and the surrounding areas through promoting education, training, advocacy and networking.
PROGRAMS
Continue to implement programs that promote business growth within the Hispanic business community by building partnerships with organizations that provide business resources. The programs will include Small Business Development Seminars, promotion of Hub certification, and a small scale business to business “Mercado”. Continue to serve as facilitators.
MEMBERSHIP RECRUITMENT
Work in conjunction with Membership Services Council to extend membership opportunities to the Hispanic business community.
MARKETING / PUBLIC RELATIONS
Continue to develop awareness of the mission and focus of this newly developed committee, now in its second year, in order to better serve the area. Facilitate the interaction between the Hispanic and the non-Hispanic business community. Continue to study the Hispanic market in order to determine what programs and services best serve them.
NETWORKING - MONTHLY LUNCHEONS/WEEKLY "DESAYUNOS"
Continue to provide opportunities for members to network and to develop business relationships within the Chamber, as well as to announce “breaking news” within their businesses and the Hispanic community. The breakfasts or “desayunos” will be a new initiative with an attempt to reach a different audience.
