MISSION
To facilitate the advancement of Hispanic businesses within Abilene and the surrounding areas through promoting education, training, advocacy and networking.
PROGRAMS AND OBJECTIVES
- Continue to build the bridge between non-Hispanic and Hispanic businesses in order to promote blending where all can benefit from each others’ services and products.
- Conduct survey with current Chamber members to assess 2008-09 HBC events regarding interest in topics and attendance.
- Conduct survey with current Chamber members and potential members in order to assess and identify future programs to enhance Hispanic businesses and provide Chamber members with tools and benefits that add value to their professions and businesses.
- Build Chamber and HBC membership through active recruitment efforts as we continue to work in conjunction with the Membership Services Council to extend membership opportunities to the Hispanic business community.
- Implement a marketing campaign to create awareness of the Chamber and HBC within HBC’s focused business market segment.
- Implement a recognition program that adds value to Chamber HBC members.
- Continue to partner with Abilene Business Council to hold educational seminars in order to provide small businesses an opportunity for professional growth.
- Continue with the networking events: Luncheons and “Café con . . .” (Coffee with . . .)
- Host the 3rd Business Mercado expanding outreach to surrounding areas.
- Continue to serve as facilitators in order to meet and promote the mission statement of the Hispanic Business Council.
